Campus of Politecnico di Milano

The new campus was built on the area of the former city hospital by renovating and expanding existing buildings and structures. Its modern architecture features materials such as aluminum, steel and glass to design a light, transparent and permeable atmosphere.
The Energy Class B standard was achieved by reducing energy consumption and using renewable resources: The air conditioning runs on a modular heat pump system while photovoltaic and solar thermal panels on the roof produce electrical power and hot water.
The building includes classrooms, offices, a library, a bar, labs and a parking area for a total of 2’000 students.
